BOAT
POLICY
1. A valid "C" card must be
produced in order to dive.
2. For all dives over
100 feet in depth
divers must produce a log book
showing evidence of at least five (5) dives in the
northeastern United States
(or equivalent location) to a
depth of at least 60 feet
within the last 12
months. The only exception to this rule is a
diver diving with an Instructor.
3. The buddy system will be
utilized. (Your buddy is your communication
link with the surface.)
4. All
divers must have the following equipment in order to dive. (No
sharing of equipment will
be permitted):
A. BASIC EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT:
a) Bottom Timer b) Depth Gauge
c) Submersible Pressure Gauge d) Buoyancy Control Device (Bag style dry suits are not acceptable as BCD's)
B. NIGHT DIVES
a) Underwater Light (this
requirement is added to the requirements of item A.)
C. PENETRATION & DECOMPRESSION DIVES
a) Ascent Line b) Lift Bag
Drift hangs are dangerous! These items are required in the event a diver in a
decompression situation can not find the anchor line. This equipment will
allow the diver
a means by which to make a safe ascent and decompression
hang without drifting away from
the diving area. The lift bag will serve to keep
the ascent line taut and mark the diver's
location. It is important to be proficient
in this emergency ascent technique. c) Alternate Air Source d) Penetration Line
5. The following
items will not be permitted aboard the Eagle's Nest:
A. Illegal
Substances (Drugs; i.e. crack, cocaine, marijuana, etc.) B. Alcoholic Beverages C. Spears and Spearguns
6. Smoking will be permitted only
in outdoor areas.
7. All lobsters must be
taken by hand. No gigs, gafs, or spears will be
allowed aboard (give the little critters a
fighting chance). All lobsters
brought aboard will be checked for size and eggs. Lobsters
not measuring
up to size on the Eagle's Nest "Boat Gauge", and those
bearing eggs, will
be returned to the sea.
8. All divers must be
aboard, with their equipment, 30 minutes prior to the
scheduled departure time for
sign in and a safety briefing.
Every diver arriving for the first time each season must arrive at least
1 hour
prior to departure time in order to complete release forms
and receive a
boat safety briefing. Late arrivals will not be allowed
to board! This policy
was implemented as a courtesy to those who
arrive on time!
No exceptions!
9. The Captain
reserves the right to change destination at his discretion if
he deems the primary divesite unsafe due to weather, sea conditions, or
other boats at the wreck site. (A
maximum effort will be made to dive the
site which is scheduled.)
10. All divers are responsible for
their own personal safety once they step
off the Eagle's Nest and enter the water.

RESERVING DIVE TRIPS
You may reserve space aboard the
Eagle's Nest for any scheduled wrecksite you are qualified to dive by contacting:
Captain
Howard M. Klein
P.O. Box 579
PT. Lookout, NY 11569
(516) 695-8544
A 50% deposit is required to
reserve space on all dives. No space will be
considered booked until the required deposit
is received. All bookings are
made on a "first come, first serve" basis. If your
deposit is received after the
boat is filled the deposit check will be returned to you.
All checks are made
payable to: Captain Howard Klein.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Once a trip is booked it can not be
canceled unless the person booking can
fill his spot with a replacement diver qualified to
dive the scheduled wreck
site.
In the event you do not show up for a dive you
have booked you are
responsible for the full price of that dive trip, unless the trip was
canceled
by the Captain due to weather. Any diver owing money for a "no show"
will
not be allowed to book another dive until the balance due is paid in full.
Any deposits received on trips canceled by the
Captain will be immediately
refunded. Due to the popularity of the Eagle's Nest, and
tight dive schedule,
we can not guarantee a rain check on a trip canceled due to weather.
